My opinion about Cat on a hot tin roof film
I found the film named Cat on a hot tin roof very interesting because it talks about how the 50's and 60's society was.
The story surprised me because it tells the drama of a family whose father is slowly dying of cancer and everyone knows about his illness but the main character. Here we can see how fool the main character is because he's not aware of it.
This film is full of many contradictory feelings such the honesty and dishonesty, also betrayal, confusion between many others.
It make reference to other social problems, for instance alcoholism or homosexuality.
Also the fight between truth and lie, the role of the woman in the 50's.
I found really fascinating how you can visualise the sexual appetite of the woman against her fight to protect her privacy and take care of her husband.
In my opinion Maggie represents the beginning of a woman who's fallen in love, and convinced that she's getting back her husband, despite she's alone against the problem. She has the power of love, reclaims the sex and she is very coherent when it comes to making choices.
Nervertheless the film is pretty old, it represents the problems of current times.
